
This formula is built upon Liu Wei Di Huang Wan (Six-Ingredient Rehmannia Pill), which nourishes Kidney yin, with the addition of Fu Zi (aconite root, processed) and Gui Zhi (cinnamon twig) / Rou Gui (cinnamon bark), embodying the compositional principle of "seeking yang from within yin."
o Fatigue and lack of vitality, low spirits.
o Pale, swollen tongue with thin white coating.
o Impotence and premature ejaculation in men; cold womb infertility in women.
o For impotence and premature ejaculation: add Yin Yang Huo (epimedium herb), Ba Ji Tian (morinda root), and Suo Yang (cynomorium) to strengthen yang and address impotence.
o For frequent nocturia: add Yi Zhi Ren (alpinia oxyphylla fruit), Wu Yao (lindera root), and Sang Piao Xiao (mantis egg-case) to warm the Kidney and reduce urination.
o For pronounced edema: add Niu Xi (achyranthes root) and Che Qian Zi (plantago seed) to strengthen the effect of disinhibiting water and reducing edema (this reflects the intent of Ji Sheng Shen Qi Wan, Life-Aiding Kidney Qi Pill).
o Contraindicated in Kidney yin deficiency with deficiency-fire flaring upward, presenting with dry mouth and throat, tidal fever, night sweats, and a red tongue with scanty coating.
o Contraindicated for difficult urination caused by damp-heat pouring downward.
o Fu Zi in this formula is toxic; although processed, it should not be taken in excessive amounts or for a prolonged period.
o Discontinue use during episodes of common cold with fever.
o Fu Zi (aconite root) 9 g + Rou Gui (cinnamon bark) 3 g + Shu Di (prepared rehmannia root) 24 g + Shan Zhu Yu (cornus fruit) 12 g + Shan Yao (Chinese yam) 12 g + Ze Xie (alisma rhizome) 9 g + Dan Pi (moutan bark) 9 g + Fu Ling (poria) 9 g = 87 g.
o 87 g raw herbs ÷ 5 = 17.4 g granules.
o One dose daily, taken in 2 divided doses (morning and evening), dissolved in warm water, about 9 g per dose.
o Or as directed by a physician; if taken as a pill, follow the package instructions. If a physician prescribes a decoction with modifications, the total raw herb weight must be recalculated accordingly.
本方是在滋补肾阴的“六味地黄丸”基础上,加入附子、桂枝(肉桂)而成,体现了“阴中求阳”的配伍精髓。
o 神疲乏力,精神萎靡。
o 舌淡胖,苔薄白。
o 男子阳痿早泄,女子宫寒不孕。
o 阳痿早泄: 加淫羊藿、巴戟天、锁阳以壮阳起痿。
o 夜尿频多: 加益智仁、乌药、桑螵蛸以温肾缩尿。
o 水肿明显: 加牛膝、车前子以增强利水消肿之力(即济生肾气丸之意)。
o 肾阴虚不足,虚火上炎者忌用。 症见口干咽燥、潮热盗汗、舌红少苔。
o 湿热下注所致的小便不利忌用。
o 方中附子有毒,虽经炮制,不宜过量或长期服用。
o 感冒发热期间应停用。
o 附子9g + 肉桂3g + 熟地24g + 山茱萸12g + 山药12g + 泽泻9g + 丹皮9g + 茯苓9g = 87克。
o 87克生药 ÷ 5 = 17.4克颗粒。
o 每日一剂,分早晚两次温水冲服,每次约9克。
o 或遵医嘱,作为丸剂时按说明书服用。若医师开具汤剂并加减,则需按调整后的总生药量重新换算。
