This formula is a classic combination for tonifying qi, nourishing the heart, transforming phlegm, and opening the orifices. Although it contains only four herbs, it is tightly structured, combining tonification and dispersion, opening and closing, so as to tonify heart qi to address the root and transform phlegm to open the orifices to address the branch.

Calculation of total raw herb weight in the original formula:
Ren Shen (ginseng) 9 g + Fu Ling (poria) 6 g + Shi Chang Pu (acorus rhizome) 6 g + Yuan Zhi (polygala root) 6 g = 27 g.
Conversion to 5:1 granules:
27 g raw herbs ÷ 5 = 5.4 g granules.
Granule dose: Dissolve in warm water and take twice daily, morning and evening, about 3 g per dose.
Contraindications:
