This formula is a modified combination of Xiao Chai Hu Tang (Minor Bupleurum Decoction) and Xiao Cheng Qi Tang (Minor Purgative Decoction), releasing the Shaoyang externally while attacking the Yangming internally, resolving both exterior and interior simultaneously.
o Tongue: red tongue with yellow coating.
o Pulse: wiry, rapid, and forceful.
o Not suitable for a pure Shaoyang pattern or a pure Yangming bowel excess pattern alone.
o Use with caution or avoid in pregnant women and those with weak constitutions.
o Chai Hu (bupleurum root) 15g + Huang Qin (scutellaria root) 9g + Da Huang (rhubarb rhizome) 6g + Zhi Shi (immature bitter orange) 9g + Bai Shao (white peony root) 9g + Ban Xia (pinellia rhizome) 9g + Sheng Jiang (fresh ginger) 15g + Da Zao (jujube) 5g = 77 grams.
o 77 grams raw herb ÷ 5 = 15.4 grams granules.
o One dose daily, taken in 2-3 doses dissolved in warm water, 5-8 grams per dose.
o Or as directed by the practitioner. This formula is a purgative; discontinue once the condition resolves and do not take it for a prolonged period. The practitioner will adjust the dosage of Da Huang and Zhi Shi according to the severity of interior heat excess; please follow the prescription strictly.
本方是小柴胡汤与小承气汤的合方化裁，外解少阳，内攻阳明，表里双解。
o 舌象： 舌质红，苔黄。
o 脉象： 脉弦数有力。
o 单纯的少阳证或单纯的阳明腑实证不宜使用。
o 孕妇及体虚者慎用或忌用。
o 柴胡15g + 黄芩9g + 大黄6g + 枳实9g + 白芍9g + 半夏9g + 生姜15g + 大枣5g = 77克。
o 77克生药 ÷ 5 = 15.4克颗粒。
o 每日一剂，分2-3次温水冲服，每次5-8克。
o 或遵医嘱，本方为泻下剂，中病即止，不可久服。医师会根据里实热的程度调整大黄、枳实的用量，请严格遵循处方。
