• Converted to granules:

o Total daily dose is 46.0 g of granules.

o Divided into three doses, approximately 15 g each.

• This is the heavy-dose conversion of a classical formula, reflecting the character of the original formula. In actual clinical application, the dose must be adjusted by a practitioner according to the patient's condition, constitution, and safety standards.

5. Cautions and clinical notes

• [Contraindications]:
  1. This formula is very acrid and hot in nature; it is absolutely contraindicated for vomiting due to Stomach heat, vomiting due to yin deficiency, or headache due to Liver yang rising.
  2. Use with caution in pregnant women.
• [Safety warnings]:
  1. Wu Zhu Yu in this formula is highly toxic/slightly toxic (depending on processing), and the dose in the original formula is very large. In preparing ProCare Herbs granules, Wu Zhu Yu that has been properly and rigorously processed (e.g., prepared with licorice water) must be used. It is strongly recommended that, in clinical use, the safe dose be reduced from this classical conversion based on current pharmacopoeia standards and the patient's constitution, to ensure medication safety.
  2. If signs of toxicity such as numbness of the lips, tip of the tongue, or fingertips, nausea, or palpitations occur, stop the medication immediately and seek medical attention.
• Modern applications: Mainly used for severe cases of nervous headache, Meniere's disease, intractable vomiting of pregnancy, chronic gastritis, and peptic ulcer disease that present with the pattern of Liver-Stomach deficiency cold with turbid yin surging upward.
• Duration of use: This formula is a heavy dose for warming the middle and dispersing cold; discontinue once the condition resolves and do not use long term.
