This formula is one of Wang Qingren's series of "stasis-expelling decoctions," specifically designed for blood stasis below the diaphragm. It gives equal weight to moving qi and invigorating blood.
o Abdominal pain of long duration that does not resolve.
o Dark red tongue, or with static spots.
o Choppy or wiry pulse.
o Absolutely contraindicated in pregnancy.
o Contraindicated in those with qi and blood deficiency without internal blood stasis.
o Use with caution in those with excessive menstrual flow.
o This formula has strong blood-invigorating and stasis-breaking action; it is not suitable for prolonged use and should be stopped once the condition resolves.
o Tao Ren (peach kernel) 9 g + Hong Hua (safflower) 9 g + Chuan Xiong (chuanxiong rhizome) 6 g + Dan Pi (moutan bark) 6 g + Chi Shao (red peony root) 6 g + Wu Yao (lindera root) 6 g + Yan Hu Suo (corydalis rhizome) 3 g + Dang Gui (Chinese angelica root) 9 g + Wu Ling Zhi (flying squirrel droppings) 6 g + Xiang Fu (cyperus rhizome) 4.5 g + Zhi Ke (bitter orange) 4.5 g + Gan Cao (licorice root) 9 g = 84 g.
o 84 g raw herbs ÷ 5 = 16.8 g granules.
o One dose daily, taken in two portions (morning and evening) dissolved in warm water, about 8.5 g per dose.
o Or as directed by a practitioner, who will modify the formula according to the severity of the patient's blood stasis and constitution; in that case the total raw herb weight must be recalculated accordingly.
本方是王清任“逐瘀汤”系列中专治膈下瘀血的方剂，行气与活血并重。
o 肚腹疼痛，日久不愈。
o 舌质暗红，或有瘀斑。
o 脉涩或弦。
o 孕妇绝对禁用。
o 气血虚弱、无瘀血内阻者忌用。
o 月经量过多者慎用。
o 本方活血破瘀力强，不宜久服，需中病即止。
o 桃仁9g + 红花9g + 川芎6g + 丹皮6g + 赤芍6g + 乌药6g + 延胡索3g + 当归9g + 五灵脂6g + 香附4.5g + 枳壳4.5g + 甘草9g = 84克。
o 84克生药 ÷ 5 = 16.8克颗粒。
o 每日一剂，分早晚两次温水冲服，每次约8.5克。
o 或遵医嘱，医师会根据患者瘀血的严重程度及体质情况进行加减，届时需按调整后的总生药量重新换算。
