This formula follows the method of "using purgation in place of clearing," draining the bowels to guide upper-burner heat downward and out of the body.
o Lian Qiao (forsythia fruit) 12 g + Da Huang (rhubarb root and rhizome) 6 g + Mang Xiao (mirabilite) 6 g + Gan Cao (licorice root) 6 g + Zhi Zi (gardenia fruit) 3 g + Huang Qin (scutellaria root) 3 g + Bo He (mint) 3 g + Zhu Ye (lophatherum leaf and stem) 3 g = 42 g.
o 42 g raw herbs ÷ 5 = 8.4 g granules.
o One dose daily, taken in two portions dissolved in warm water.
o It is recommended to take after meals, to reduce irritation of the stomach and intestines by the cold-purgative herbs.
o Each portion is 4 g.
o If following the spirit of the classical formula, the granules may be dissolved in honey water in an appropriate amount.
本方以“以泻代清”为法，通过泻下肠腑，引导上焦之热下行外出。
o 连翘12g + 大黄6g + 芒硝6g + 甘草6g + 栀子3g + 黄芩3g + 薄荷3g + 竹叶3g = 42克。
o 42克生药 ÷ 5 = 8.4克颗粒。
o 每日一剂，分两次温水冲服。
o 建议饭后服用，以减轻寒下药对胃肠的刺激。
o 每次服用剂量为4克。
o 若需仿古方意，可用适量蜂蜜水冲服颗粒剂。
